Checking file consistency for TrueLatex

(:Reconcile

    cookbook/PmWiki.org/TrueLatex-latest.zip
    http://www.pmwiki.org/pmwiki/uploads/Cookbook/TrueLatex-latest.zip :)

What does this mean?

If you arrived at this page by following a link from PmWiki.org, then this page checks if the recipe file (a PHP file or a ZIP archive) you were trying to download matches with the latest version of the one being used at http://subhrajit.net/ .

If the files have the same content, you can be at peace of mind and download the recipe from the link above. Or, if you go back to the recipe page on PmWiki.org to download the file, just make sure that the name & path of the file you download from there match the one mentioned above in the consistency result.

If the files have different contents, you may need to be a little careful. This may mean a few possibilities:

  1. It may be just that I made some changes/customization of the file in my personal web-site (http://subhrajit.net/) that I haven't yet uploaded to PmWiki.org. Thus the files do not match.
  2. Or, some other PmWiki developer uploaded a newer/better version of the recipe to PmWiki.org, that I don't know about or am not using. Check for any hint in the "Release Notes" section of the recipe page on PmWiki.org.
  3. Or (the sinister possibility), somebody sabotaged the file on PmWiki.org. PmWiki.org is a public wiki (in unprotected pages anybody can upload/replace files and even impersonate others while doing that. Please read about PmWiki security for more details). So be careful while downloading the file if the files above have different contents, since it's easy to steal information, insert virus/trojans, etc. in a server through PHP code. Please report this to subhrajit@gmail.com if you think there has been a security breach.
